All that glisters is

generally gold, but is its

glory what we need?

people shine in our

hearts, more permanent, more true,

but so transient

It’s time for TJ’s Household Haiku Challenge, where today the prompt is ‘gold’. That precious metal s something many hanker after, but what does it truly give us, in the end?

Please do take part – it’s fun!

He says she is his

exact mirror; a perfect

pair. She disagrees.

He is blind to their

discordance, refuses

to bear true witness.

It’s time for TJ’s Household Haiku Challenge, and this week, our prompt from the lovely TJ is ‘symmetry’. I tend to write two haiku (haikus?), but really you only need to write one -so why not give it a try?

She is a cracked plastic spoon,

brittle, cheap, temporary

in our use it, bin it world.

Not worth a second thought –

He is a brutal jackhammer

pounding everything in his path

scything his way through

without a second thought.

They are a match made in hell.

Sadly, this poem was inspired by a couple I observed whilst out and about in town today. They played on my mind and followed me home, in my head at least. I feel a little better for ‘writing it out’, but I do wonder what will become of them.
