Tang – Five Sentence Fiction

Tang.

Salt tang.

Sweet oblivion, for without the dark, there can be no light.

I float, rise above my earth-bound body.

You wash over me and now, now I am whole.ย

After a scarily long absence from my blog – no excuses, it’s just how it’s been – here is my long-overdue entry into the lovely Lillie’s Five Sentence Fiction, where she has provided this azure-hued photo for our delight, delectation and inspiration. Please do visit here to read the entries from other writers who love to keep it short, and yet still full of meaning.

As for my entry above, well, I leave it to your imagination as to what inspired me, together with the photo! All comment are very, very welcome, if you feel so moved.

  1. Very nice to see you back! Sometimes I feel that regularity gives discipline but can ‘kill’ spontaneity. Your poem made me think of being regenerated after a long sleep or dark episode.

    1. Goodness me, I didn’t mean to cause any worry – I’m so sorry! Thank you for the welcome back, and I look forward to catching up with at least some of your writing. It’s lovely to hear from you ๐Ÿ™‚

      1. It’s all good Freya, I had another blogger friend who one day vanished and never returned and it was sad going to her blog and seeing so many messages of concern. But I felt a wave of relief to see you back on the air, so to speak…..

  2. I don’t know whether this is melancholy, morbid or just a sort of sweet surrender. Either way, it’s good to know you still hold a good command over words. Good to see you.

    1. Aahhhh… I was shooting for sweet surrender, but as ever, melancholy is on my fringes. Writing on the darker side is my thing, after all. I’m glad you enjoyed it.
