Never mess with the lower classes, love it 🙂
My point exactly! Without us, they’d be nowhere! Glad you enjoyed it 🙂
I have a feeling it’s going to be a difficult transition for the lady. Ha ha.
Yes, I think you’re right!
love it. Hope her ladyship doesn’t discover that the red ants weren’t an accidental addition to the hay…
Well, if she does, then maybe it will encourager her to lose some of her attitude! Thank you, Bryan 🙂
Suspect the next time you see that red farm vehicle it will be hauling Sealy Posturepedics to the manor house.
Quite probably – if ‘Is Lordship will stump up the money for it! 🙂
Poor lady-not her fault if she is not used to country life!Horrid man!Loved this Freya:-)
Well, I imagine her new husband might not have prepared her for the differences… she’ll soon learn! Thank you 🙂
:-)My sympathies with her,lol!
Ouch! That left me chuckling. Lady Rainsford will soon learn her lesson….or will she take revenge in a “city folks” way? 😀
She might well take revenge – the city ways are harsh indeed, but I suspect that the country folk can more than cope 🙂
Hehe 😀
Beautiful language and love the image of a broad-beamed wife. Not so keen on them red ants though.
Thank you, Sarah Ann. I accidentally sat on a red ant colony when I was a little girl – they hurt!
Yikes!! Don’t mess with him.
janet
He’s a tough old stick! 🙂
Thar be town folk and thar be country folk. And that’s the way things be. ‘Er ladyship has a lot to learn.
She does indeed, she does indeed!
Red ants — and peas have left the manor .-)
Indeed they have! 🙂
Dear Freya,
Yikes. I’d say the lady of the manor is in for a very uncomfortable night. Nicely done.
Shalom,
Rochelle
I think so! Thank you, Rochelle.
Well-written story. Good surprise ending. I think Her Ladyship is going to suspect she’s not liked. I also think Silas better have a believable excuse ready for the ants in the mattress he prepared.
Thank you! I don’t think Silas thought it through, so he better come up with some good story… 🙂
Oh dear. I can’t see ‘er Ladyship settling in anytime soon. I love that Silas recognised that she wasn’t a patch on his wife.
He’s quite perceptive… 🙂
