Here is this week’s entry into the weekly challenge brought to us by the lovely Rochelle Wisoff-Fields. I’ve been away from this great community for a couple of weeks – life is busy, and I decided sleep had to take priority!
Here are the rules: Use the photo as inspiration, write a hundred(ish) words – and share! Here goes my offering for this week – and I welcome your comments again!

Lovely Freya, I like the idea of mother nature taking back what was hers. Well done and I great take on the idea of repossession.
Thank you 🙂
As well she should. Nice take on the prompt
She will survive after we are long gone… Thank you!
You have to take an afternoon (I once read it twice in one day on a particularly long bus ride) and read “Lullaby” by Chuck Palahniuk. You will pee your pants. Maybe pick up some adult undergarments first, darling. Just sayin’.
OK, sounds like a fun afternoon – reading and weeing 🙂
Will check him out, thank you!
Good ole Ma Terra 🙂
Indeed! Thank you for reading 🙂
You’re welcome Freya 🙂
The jungle takes back. Nicely portrayed.
Thank you 🙂
great story. love this idea of repossession 🙂
Thank you, kz! Repossession of the most natural kind.
Loved your take on ‘repossession’. Nicely done.
Thank you, Sandra!
I like the tone of this one (and the sentiment), but the voice is very gentle, but somehow stealthy, like the plants I suppose.
Thank you. I prefer to write in an understated way – for me, it is true to my own voice and approach to life.
Cool take on the prompt Freya:-)Loved the line,”Or maybe that’s my imagination running amok, much like the creepers, vines and weeds.”
Thank you so much. I loved that this line came to me in just the right way…
🙂
Nicely creepy, Freya.
janet
Thank you, I’m glad you enjoyed it!
Love the thought of imagination.. the choking insidet.. really cool
Thank you, Bjorn. I do worry what is inside my head sometimes – and whether I sometimes say these things out loud….. 😉
Great take on the prompt! Impermanence is a human’s lot and Mother Nature reclaims all eventually.
Thank you. Yes, we think we’re invincible, but no, we’re not.
Dear Freya,
Imaginative and well-layered story in 100 words. Perhaps if we were better stewards Mother Nature wouldn’t feel the need to take it all back. 😉 Good one.
Shalom,
Rochelle
Thank you so much, Rochelle. Yes, we need to get our act together….
It’s true, concrete is only temporary. If there’s a crack a seed will grow.
Indeed, it will. Thank you.
Freya…
Fantastic symbolism here .
Thank you so much for visiting and contributing to Friday Flash 55
You certainly have it going on as a writer.
Thanks for sharing your great talent, and have a Kick Ass Week!!
Thank you so much, G-Man – I’m glad I found you! The week is progressing in a KA fashion so far… 🙂
